Things to Do in Naples and Southwest Florida This Weekend, September 18-20, 2026

This weekend in Naples and Southwest Florida is one of those stretches that reminds you how much life happens here between beach days. Comedy, a ten day music festival, an Oktoberfest celebration, and a full calendar of local culture are all sharing the same three days.

Comedy Takes Center Stage

Off the Hook Comedy Cafe welcomes Brad Upton for a three night run, Friday through Sunday. Over in Fort Myers, Snappers Comedy Cafe hosts Pedro Gonzalez Friday and Saturday. And Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall adds a newly announced Fort Myers stop for Nikki Glaser's Stunning Tour this weekend. The Emmy, Grammy and Golden Globe nominated comedian is known for her candid, no holds barred style, and this is a rare chance to catch her close to home.

Worth the Drive: Island Hopper Songwriter Fest and Oktoberfest

If you have a little more time this weekend, two events make the drive worthwhile. The 11th Annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest kicks off on Captiva Island, bringing ten days of live music from more than 50 singer-songwriters, including Angie K, Bryan Ruby and Grammy winner Jeffrey East, to restaurants, bars and resorts across Captiva Island, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach and Cape Coral through September 27. And in Punta Gorda, UnWined hosts an Oktoberfest celebration Friday evening, complete with German pilsner on tap and lederhosen encouraged.

Art, Culture and the Everyday Good Life

Closer to home, the Naples Art District throws open its doors for Open Studios Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Cities of Light exhibition continues at Galleria Shoppes at Vanderbilt through Saturday. Artis Naples hosts Crave for a Cause Saturday evening, a fundraiser built around good food and a good reason to show up. Sizzle Dining keeps the region's best tables full at Mercato all month, and farmers markets fill Saturday and Sunday mornings in Naples, Bonita Springs, Fort Myers and beyond for anyone looking to shop local.

Why This Weekend Matters If You Are Considering Naples or Southwest Florida

Weekends like this one show what life here actually looks like. A community with a full calendar of comedy, music, art and food, all within easy reach of the beach. It is not a performance for visitors. It is simply how people live here, week after week.

If Naples has been on your mind, whether as a second home, a future move, or a place you are still getting to know, I am always happy to be a resource.
