It is Summer’s last hurrah here in Southwest Florida. In your quest for things to do to stay cool and dry this weekend, it is the last weekend for several iconic performances and the kickoff for a foodie focused museum exhibit.

For the foodie in all of us, the Collier Museum at Government Center, explores Naples’ evolving restaurant culture through archival photographs, vintage menus and memorabilia from beloved local eateries. Tracing the area’s dining history from 19th-century hotel cookouts to mid-century seafood joints and upscale establishments, the show presents a portrait of changing tastes and enduring favorites.
“Annie” wraps up this weekend at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater. In this beloved musical filled with heart, humor and iconic songs, Annie charms her way into luxury while facing off against the wicked Miss Hannigan through August 9th.
Also at the Broadway Palm through Aug. 9, Murder Down the Aisle, is about a wedding that turns deadly, and a sharp detective unravels the mystery amid quirky suspects in this hilarious whodunnit filled with laughs and intrigue.
The Players Circle Theater presents fan favorite “Grease” A Rock ’n’ Roll Broadway Musical set in a 1959 high school, this energetic show features unforgettable hits like “Summer Nights,” “Greased Lightning,” and “We Go Together” through August 10.

And voice actor Eddie Frierson (Tangled and Wreck-It Ralph) debuts his original, one-man play, Matty: An Evening with Christy Mathewson, at Alliance for the Arts on Sunday for a one day only show before heading North for a NY debut. This love letter to the baseball legend dives deep into the emotional nuance and humor of Mathewson’s record-setting career, World War I service and lasting impact on American sports culture.

Steve Hytner is at Off the Hook Comedy Club with sets Friday, Saturday with Luis Diaz Dave Williamson stepping in on Sunday night. Phil Johnson is leading the laughs at Snappers Comedy Club in Fort Myers Friday and Saturday.
