Classical Music – The Naples Philharmonic performs Czech Masterpieces at 8 p.m. April 18 and 20 in Hayes Hall at Artis— Naples. A celebration of Czech classical music, under the baton of respected Czech conductor Tomáš Netopil in a program featuring two of the country’s best-known composers. Dvorák’s Eighth Symphony and Janácek’s Taras Bulba are capped with Dvorák’s Te Deum, featuring soprano Georgia Jarman, the Naples Philharmonic Chorus and the FGCU University Choir. Camerata Concert – Naples Philharmonic’s concertmaster Zachary DePue is the featured soloist at Camerata of Naples’ concert at 4 p.m. April 21 at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Camerata of Naples performs J. C. Bach’s “Harpsichord Concerto No. 6.” DePue is featured on Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons Spring and Summer.” Grieg’s “Holberg Suite Op. 40 for String Orchestra” completes the concert. 500 Park Shore Drive, Naples. Teen Harpist – Harpist Noa Michaels, just 16, is the featured soloist performing with the chamber music ensemble Camerata of Naples at 4 p.m. May 7 at the Moorings Church. The program features C. Debussy’s “Danse Sacree et Profane” for harp and strings, E. V. Dohnányi and P. I. Tchaikovsky. Camerata of Naples has a core group of 14 local professional musicians. Opera on Film – The Filmed Operetta Festival 2024 wraps with its final film at 2 p.m. April 14 at the Wang Opera Center. The film is “La Belle Helene” by Jacques Offenbach with an introductory lecture by host Bill Edgerton. Meet others who share your curiosity and interest in opera, while listening to classic filmed operettas. A suggested donation of $20 per person is requested. The Ice Princess of Turandot requires all suitors to answer three riddles correctly. Those who fail are beheaded. Prince Calaf falls in love at first sight. But can he solve the riddles?
