ALL WEEKEND

Following Wednesday night’s red carpet opening, Man of La Mancha returns to The Naples Players’ recently renovated stage on Fifth Avenue South. Based on Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote, this five-time Tony Award-winning musical is set in a Spanish Inquisition-era prison cell, where inmates recount Don Quixote’s heroic quest to right the world’s wrongs. The play-within-a-play format (running through April 13) features a local cast and visiting New York actor Ladd Boris, who embodies right-hand-man Sancho Panza for the seventh time in his career.

Fort Myers’ Alliance for the Arts is building on the success of last year’s inaugural, one-night Storytelling Festival with a four-day revival from March 13 to 16. Professional travelling storyteller Paul Strickland kicks off the festivities Thursday night with a one-hour set of family friendly tall tales, folk tales and fairy tales. The storytelling continues through the weekend with ghost stories, heartwarming narratives, workshops and panel discussions from Tamiami Tale Tellers and others.

One of Florida’s largest juried garden shows, the annual Naples Flower Show & Garden Market returns to Naples Botanical Garden on March 14 and 15 with floral displays, exotic plants, botanical art exhibits and educational demonstrations throughout the garden. Presented by the Naples Garden Club, the show offers the chance to test your green thumb with plants for purchase and ample inspiration for Southwest Florida landscapes.
