Peripheral Dialogues, a new exhibition by Kathleen Kinkopf, opens at 6 p.m. in the Grand Atrium at Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center and runs through May 28. The collection explores dreamlike, in-between states of consciousness through layered, symbolic works centered on nature and the female form.  

 

Catch a full-moon wellness session 8 p.m. on Bonita Beach, hosted by Grounding Spot. The evening blends all-levels yoga, breathwork and sound bowl meditation, closing with an ocean ritual and affirmation card pull.  

 

Kick off the weekend at 7 p.m. with a free, family-friendly First Friday concert at Gulf Coast Town Center, where six-piece band Mockingbird leans into crowd-ready rock, country and line-dance staples. Derby Day gets a waterfront twist from noon to 8 p.m. at Slipaway Food Truck Park & Marina in Cape Coral. Expect live race coverage, mint juleps, best-dressed contests and live music, alongside charity wagering benefiting Blessings in a Backpack SWFL.  

 

For a wellness-forward take on Derby Day, head to House of HIIT at at 11:30 a.m. for the Naples Junior Woman’s Club’s Derby Dash. The event pairs an all-levels yoga session with light bites, wellness partners and community mingling—Derby hats encouraged. Proceeds support scholarships for Collier County students.  

 

Another Derby Day celebration takes place at The Real Macaw, with a live stream of the race leading into music from 7 to 10 p.m. Mint juleps and fried chicken specials set the tone alongside a full slate of best-dressed contests—from standout hats to top couples. Reservations recommended.  

 

An end-of-season gathering starting at 4:30 p.m. at Mingo Drive Farm, blending live entertainment with a relaxed, buffet-style spread and drinks. The event supports soil restoration efforts for the next growing season, with proceeds going toward compost and land care.
